In May, saddened by the ongoing plight of Nepalese people injured and displaced by the Gorkha earthquake, we decided to do some serious fundraising. Our first project was to turn our regular ‘International Food Party’ into a mini ‘tuck-shop’. Both staff and students prepared their favourite dishes from their home countries and these were available for other students and teachers to buy. A delicious lunch and $2400 raised in half an hour! The funds raised were donated to the Red Cross. Further fund-raising events are being planned.

On August 1st the staff will run the famous ‘City to Surf’ fun-run from Bondi Beach to Bondi Junction. 15 kilometres of blood, sweat and tears. All funds raised will be donated to our favourite charity; Heart Children’s Home in Malindi, Kenya. Get ready to sponsor us students and hopefully we won’t be too exhausted to make it back to class on Monday!
