We recently chatted to our some of our current students to see what they thought of the nightlife in Manly. Not surprisingly they loved the fact that there were so many great bars and clubs available for them to meet up with their SEA friends. They also thought it was a great opportunity to meet lots of other students from the other schools, international travellers and lots of Aussies. Below are just a few of their favourite spots!
The Steyne Hotel http://www.hotelsteyne.com.au/
This is Manly’s oldest and best known pub. Actually it’s so old that even SEA’s principal, Mick, remembers spending many a Friday night there as a teenager! There are several different bars in the Steyne to suit everyone’s taste. The Sports Bar has a fantastic Outside Bar so you can enjoy yourself under the stars. The Upstairs Bar has some awesome music nights and a balcony overlooking Manly Beach. The Main Bar has a great restaurant serving everything from a great Aussie steak to Thai food. Every Monday is half price main meals. There is always a great crowd at the Steyne and always plenty of Aussies!
The Shark Bar https://www.newbrightonhotel.com.au/
If you like dancing then the Shark Bar is the place to be. It’s in the centre of Manly and has three levels and is probably the number one place to dance in Manly and have a game of pool. It’s free entry and has a great night club open 7 nights a week in summer and Friday and Saturday nights in winter.
Sugar Lounge https://www.facebook.com/sugarloungemanly/
Only 10 meters from the sand of Manly Beach you can have a drink with the sound of waves crashing on the beach. If you like Latin Music and dance then you must be here for Thursday night because that is when it happens. Manly is popular with students from South America so you can be guaranteed to make lots of friends and work up a sweat on the dance floor. SEA students say it has the best atmosphere for dancing so you will be guaranteed to hit the dance floor with your mates!
