Sydney English Academy helps the community and the environment

Carbon Initiatives

SEA-Photos-Scuba.jpgThe SEA is located in one of the most beautiful environments on Earth and we want to keep it that way! A large proportion of our energy needs come from renewable energy sources. All flights by SEA directors have carbon offsets. We switch off ALL power (except for one computer) at the end of the day (simple but effective!) We are an accredited business under the Manly Sustainable Tourism initiative.

Recycling

We are big on recycling - find out how you can help on day 1 of your course!

Cleaning

Our commercial cleaners clean the school with all biodegradable products

Community

SEA-Photos-Beach.jpgWe feel privileged to have the opportunities we do in this beautiful country Australia ...
so we felt we could try to improve the opportunities available to others who are not so fortunate...

This is how we do it:

  • SEA plans to sponsor a student each year from a developing country to come to study with us, and take back skills and experiences to their homeland that will benefit not just themselves and their family but their wider community too.
  • Click on the link to read about Lucia, our first sponsored student from East Timor. How can you help? Do your bit!
  • If you're a student - through the SEA you can get involved in our Volunteer Program. We assist you in joining a local volunteers group. Some of the most popular voluntary work to date has been: Bush Regeneration, Farm work (after or before your course), Pre-school visits, Aged care visits, Assisting at local festivals. For more information follow the links
  • If you're a local business or homestay provider and you would like to help us sponsor students please contact Mick Edwards for more information
